Recent flood triggered by incessant rains has badly affected the southern Terai belt of Nepal. More than 80 people have lost their lives from floods and landslides and thousands of people have been victims of the flood. The flood victims are facing acute problems of food, shelter and drinking water. They are compelled to live very measurable life. The flood affected area has high risk of spreading different kinds of waterborne diseases.

In such a painful situation the flood victims are waiting for humanitarian relief package. It is the moral responsibility of every individuals and organizations to do their best for the relief of our brothers and sisters who are living a painful life waiting for humanitarian relief. With this in view, National Council of Churches of Nepal (NCCN) and Gosner Mission in Germany jointly provided a some of Rs. 100,000.00 to Natural Disaster Rescue and Relief Coordination committee Banke for the use of providing relief materials to the flood victims in Nepalgunj and surrounding area in Banke district as Nepalgunj was one of the most effected areas from the flood.
Amongst a gathering of local government officials, journalists and local people, NCCN general Secretary Dr. K.B. Rokaya handed over a cheque of Rs. 100,000.00 to the chief of Banke District Natural Disaster Rescue and Relief Coordination Committee and Chief District Officer of Banke District on 10 August 07 in Nepalgunj.
